… in which a posse of Partisans populate quartier Bastille.

Photos by Thomas Morizet

October 4, 2025 marked the first mass exhibition of my Partisan paintings in Paris– thiry-five of fifty works (some still in the US), and with it, a group of friends amassed. Some friends of over ten years from New York, some from Stockholm, and both old and new friends from Paris. An interesting and beloved range of writers, musicians, artists and fashion designers.

Intelligent people ask good questions.

Most were curious to know more about how the titles (references to psychological habits and terms from the cultural moment) relate to the overall idea. So in the coming posts, I’ll be focusing on the individual Partisan works; specifically how the titles relate to the painting technique and imagery.

Thanks again.
